Investment Counsellor
I was lucky to grow up in the small town of Revelstoke, alongside my sister, where our mom instilled in us the importance of family and our dad showed us the value of hard work. As kids, we spent nearly every weekend in a hockey arena, with my family sacrificing tropical vacations to watch me play the sport I love. When I turned seventeen, I left home to play junior hockey in Saskatchewan. I loved the people, but my first experience with -50 weather had me seriously considering a flight home. I’m glad I stuck it out – in 2014 I helped the Yorkton Terriers win a national championship, and the following year I met my best friend who is now my wife.
After hanging up my skates, I attended the University of Victoria where I graduated as a Pat Elemans Fellow from the Applied Portfolio Management Program. Following a 12-month internship at one of Canada’s largest pension fund managers, I began my career in equity research a few months before the pandemic sent the global markets spiralling. It was during this turbulent time that I saw how much wealth could be created by those focused on the long term – a lesson that will stay with me for life.
With six years of equity research experience, I joined Dixon Mitchell in 2025. Based out of our Calgary office, my focus is building our private client business across the Prairies and supporting institutional clients nationwide. After growing up in a small BC town, playing hockey in rural Saskatchewan, and exploring Vancouver Island, it seemed natural to settle down in Calgary where my wife and I are a short flight to family but can write our own story. We love spending time exploring the city, trying out new restaurants, and have recently joined the “C of Red” as season ticket holders (unless the Maple Leafs are in town).
