The UVIC Applied Portfolio Management Program reached its fifth anniversary in 2023. To mark this milestone, program directors and alumni came together to create and fund the Saurabh Suryavanshi Award, to honour a passionate and dedicated individual whose efforts have enriched the experience of all students that have taken the program.
We are proud to recognize DM’s Portfolio Manager, Saurabh Suryavanshi, CFA, MBA, and his commitment to the personal success of his students at UVIC. Saurabh teaches the Applied Investment Management Course to third-year students at UVIC, a prerequisite requirement to being offered a portfolio manager role in APMP in the student’s fourth year. Saurabh takes the students through the process of equity research and financial modelling, each studying one Canadian company and presenting their research to industry experts and peers at the end of the term. Saurabh’s enthusiasm for his work at UVIC and his relationship with the students ensures that each student has the tools necessary to realize their full potential. The award named in his honour will be presented to a student who best demonstrates a strong work ethic and perseverance during their time on the Applied Portfolio Management Course.
